William Hoyt Grist

William Hoyt Grist , age 92, passed away April 12, 2021. He was born September 29, 1928 the son of the late Herschel Judson Sr. and Belle Bleckley Grist.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Herschel J. Grist Jr., Douglas Grist.

He is survived by his wife Carron Grist of Dillard, Georgia.; four daughters, Traci Grist Rob) Ward, Missi (Evan) Mermelstein, Sheri (Eric) Sands, Cindy (Gary) Fricks; four grandchildren, Tripp, Kali, Kyle, and Parker.

William was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved being outdoors, and enjoyed growing gardens. He loved the mountains and enjoyed hiking. He attended Georgia Tech and loved watching the Ga. Tech football games and also enjoyed watching all sports. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday April 15, 2021 at the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church Cemetery in Dillard, Georgia, with Rev. Gabe Southards and Jeff Vinson officiating.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of William to the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church P.O. Box 184 Dillard, Georgia 30537.
