Ronald Lee Crane, 74, of Rabun Gap, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, in Clayton, Georgia.
Ronnie was born in West Palm Beach, Florida to Albert and Doris Crane. He married his high school sweetheart, Patricia (Patsy) Crane. They celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on December 28th. He was a loving father to Scott Crane (Julie Crane), of Rabun Gap, and Renai Crane Sparrow (Kenny Sparrow) , of Gaineville, Florida. He was adored by his five grandkids: Logan Sparrow, Madelyn Crane, Nolan Crane, Luke Sparrow, and Colton Crane.
He spent the first part of his career in law enforcement as a police and fire chief of Mangonia Park, Florida. He later went on to work at Sara Lee Knit Products as a supervisor, and retired from Rabun Gap Nacoochee School as a Facilities Manager. He was a proud volunteer for Station 5 Valley Fire Department.
He is survived by his dad, Albert Crane, brother Gary Crane, and sisters Susan Guzman, Debbie Shriner, and Nancy Titshaw. He loved his family, but more than anything,
he was a devoted and loving husband to Patsy.
Visitation Services will be held this Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Beck’s Funeral Home from 2:00-3:30pm. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3:30pm. Donations can be made in his memory to Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund P.O. Box 485 Rabun Gap, GA 30568.
