Raymond Leroi Kearns, 86, of Clayton, Ga passed on March 30, 2021.
Raymond was born in Pittsburgh, PA the son of the late John Kearns and the late Ruth Cecelia Mckee Kearns. Raymond served his country proudly in the Army. He was a master carpenter and building Contractor. He attended Antioch Methodist Church in the Warwoman community. He was an avid trout fisherman who loved spending time in the local streams. He enjoyed the solitude of where he lived in Rabun County, the mountain and stream drew him here. Raymond enjoyed camping woodworking and just being outdoors. He was a member of Trout Unlimited Rabun Chapter. In his younger years he enjoyed flying and being a pilot. Raymond was a loving Father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Mitchell Kearns; one son, Tony Kearns; two brothers, John Robert Kearns, Richard James Kearns; two sisters, Dorothy C. Kearns Servia, Mary Jane Kearns Reynolds.
He is survived by five sons, Mark Kearns (Paula), of Bogart, Georgia, Lee Kearns (Helen), of Hoschton, Georgia, Rusty Kearns (Pam), of Eatonton, Georgia, David Kearns (Debbie), of Monticello, Georgia, Mitch Kearns (Deanna), of Covington, Georgia; his daughter-in-law, Paula Kearns, of Stone Mountain, Georgia; one brother, Bernard William Kearns of Covington, Ga; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, also survive him.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 12:00 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday April 17, 2021.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the Beck Funeral Home on Saturday April 17, 2021 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Lee Krivsky, Oscar Thomas and Richard Kearns officiating.
