Patricia Timberlake Obituary

Patricia Ann York Timberlake (affectionately known as Pat) born in Rabun County, Georgia June 26, 1941 to Doc Carlton York and Marie Williams York Hollifield, passed away on June 29, 2021 after an extended illness.

Patricia is preceded in death by her ex-husband, Ammond T Timberlake. They were companions until his death in 2016. Her father and mother; as well as, her step brothers, Emory Roy Hollifield and Joe Hollifield passed away several years ago.

Although she did not have children, she is survived by her nephew, Eric Hollifield, his wife Jesse and their son Orin. She is also survived by a number of cousins. She was especially close to the children of her very special traveling companion, aunt Dot. Several of them she gave their birth names. She also is survived by a number of York cousins. After she moved back to Rabun County, she so looked forward to Carlton and Nawana taking her to fellowship with the Battle Branch Church family, and called on Curtis to help when needed. She talked about the great meals she had with Curtis and Renee Beck and enjoyed visiting their home.

Patricia boarded at Tallulah Falls School through her junior year. She often said these were very happy days for her. She finished her senior year and graduated from Rabun County High School. After graduation, she moved to Atlanta and attended business school. She became an executive secretary and had a wonderful professional life. Although Pat had a fear of flying, she loved to travel and made many trips across America with her aunt Dot and mother.

Patricia had a soft spot and was a strong advocate for animal protection. She especially loved dogs and through the years cared for several beloved pets.

She was so thoughtful and loved sending cards and handwritten letters for special occasions. Patricia made many lifetime friends and her sweet smile will truly be missed.

As Pat’s illness began to take hold, she gave us a handwritten poem with a note that said –I love this little poem, called the Promised by Robert Sexton:

Across the years I will walk with you-

In deep green forests;

on shores of sand;

and when our time on earth is through, in Heaven, too, you will have my hand.

A service will be held at a later date.
