Merwyn Lee Elliott

Merwyn Lee Elliott, age 82, of Clayton, Georgia passed away on September 28, 2021.

He was born the son of the late Glenn Dotson Elliott and the late Eleanor Elvira Elliott in 1938. He served his country and was a veteran of the United States Army. He obtained his PHD from the University of South Carolina prior to working in the finance industry on Wall Street. He went on to teach at Georgia State University. He enjoyed being outdoors, spending time kayaking and canoeing, and hiking. He enjoyed reading, and spending time on Lake Rabun where he lived for 18 years.

His survivors include his loving wife, Carol Elliott; two sons, Porter Elliott, of Brussells, Belgium and Grant Elliott, of Churchton, Maryland; one grandchild, Sabine Elliott, and one sister, Marge Carpenter, of Florida.

A family service will be held at a later date.
