Janice Falconberry Obituary

Janice DiNofrio MacDowell Falconberry of Milford, Ohio, passed away from cancer on June 10, 2020 at Blue Ash Hospice in Cincinnati, Ohio. Janice was born on April 25, 1962 in West Palm Beach, Florida to Joseph and Susan (Houghtaling) DiNofrio. She went home to be with the Lord on June 10, 2020 at the age of 58.

Janice is survived by her loving and faithful husband Wade Falconberry; her mother, Susan (Houghtaling) DiNofrio Odom, Otto, NC; two children, Matthew Scott Halcomb and Jennifer Lynn Halcomb; three brothers, Christopher Scott DiNofrio (Rachel) of Lakemont, GA, Stephen Arnold DiNofrio (Tessie) of Lawrenceville, GA, and Tom King (Pam) of Scottsboro, AL; a favorite niece, Crystal DiNofrio Smith; two step-children, Constance (Falconberry) Ferdon and Andrew Falconberry; step-grandchildren Edward Phillip Ferdon and Gabriella Marie Ferdon; Ex-husband and friend Donald Halcomb; and nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
In early life Janice was adopted and raised by William H. MacDowell and his wife Dolores (West) MacDowell. She reunited with her DiNofrio family in 1983 after the death of her adoptive parents. Her adopted brother Scott MacDowell also predeceased her.

Janice had many interests including beautiful photography, making lovely jewelry, medical transcription, and dog training. She raised parakeets and other birds for several years. Her love for dogs was well known and she had at least two or three dogs in her household at all times. Her dogs, Morgana, Merlin, and Bug will certainly miss her. She loved flowers and was constantly filling containers with them; the most beautiful were her violets. Janice was also a fervent University of Kentucky sports fan and had many good-natured battles with her mom and brother who both attended UNC. Whatever she attempted, she did with love, fervor, and precision.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 6 PM at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, Ohio. The Rev. Don Stowell will officiate.
