which help to develop her love for family and God. It was in Clayton where she met her husband DJ and
they were married after he served in the Army and fought in the Korean war.
Soon after starting their family, they relocated to Doraville Ga where Ellaine lived until 2000. After which
she moved to Cleveland Ga. Ellaine loved being a mother and was happiest when there was a house full
of kids. No matter if they were hers or not. She always was quick with a smile and had a good sense of
humor that always brighten your day. She was always quick to say yes for any request for help. She had
a very close relationship with God and demonstrated it by the way she treated other people. She was
smart, witty and a had a way that always put you at ease. In addition to her love of her kids and adopted
kids (meaning all the kids in her extended family) she enjoyed helping friends in need, going to church,
reading just about anything she could get her hands on and doing crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed
taking bus tours and trips with her sisters to different locations throughout the south.
Ellaine started to work for DeKalb County in the 70’s in the local schools cafeteria. She was famous for
made from scratch biscuit’s and cinnamon buns. All the kids and teachers at her school loved her and
many became lifelong friends.
She will be missed by all and the world will be a little bit dimmer without her in it.
