Celia Mason Smith

Celia Mason Smith age 74, of Clayton, Georgia passed away on January 7, 2022.

Celia was born the daughter of the late Walter E. Mason and the late Janet Virginia Grim Mason on March 23, 1947. In her professional career she worked as a Registered Nurse for the Rabun County Memorial Hospital for over 30 years. She also worked as the owner operator of several restaurants, including Michael & Michelle’s. In her retirement she worked with the 9th district and the Dillard House. She was a loving wife, who traveled across the country with her husband and dog on a motorcycle. They made it to every state except Alaska and Hawaii. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who loved spending time with her grandchildren. Celia always enjoyed doing for others. She was a kind caring soul and was a friend to all.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Smith Sr.

She leaves behind her son, Michael Smith Jr. (Anna), of Hoschton, Georgia; Michelle Smith Youngblood (Mark), of Tiger, Georgia; her brother, Charles Mason, of Fairbanks, Alaska; three sisters, Sandra Kazi, of Richmond, Virginia, Mary Banks, of Blacksburg, Virginia, and Jan Hill, of Lexington, Virginia; four grandchildren, Luke Youngblood (Sig), Ethan Youngblood (Crystal), Sarah Youngblood, Ellen Smith; five great-grandchildren, Emsley Youngblood, Everly Youngblood, Rex Youngblood, Karson Youngblood, Aurora Youngblood.

The family will receive friends on Friday January 21, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Beck Funeral Home in Clayton, Georgia.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday January 21, 2022 in the Chapel of the Beck Funeral home at 7:00 pm with Rev. Lee Krivski officiating.
