Brye Leman Darnell, Jr.

Brye Leman ( Bud) Darnell, Jr., age 83 of Rabun Gap, Georgia, and Cumming, Georgia, went to his heavenly home August 3, 2020. He was born September 30, 1936 in Rabun County to Brye and Pauline Norton Darnell.

He was a member of Betty’s Creek Baptist Church Rabun Gap, Georgia and Grace Baptist Church in Cumming, Georgia. After serving in the Air Force he was employed and retired from Gliden Paint Company. His heritage and love of Betty’s Creek never stopped. He went back to catch up with the neighbors and friends ever chance he could.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ross Darnell, and an infant sister Sarah Ann Darnell, Sisters Floss Sitton, Joyce Thompson, Jacqueline Darnell, Lillian Smith, and Katherine Hyatt.

Survivors include his wife Joyce Bannister Darnell; brother in law, Jack Smith; sisters in law, Ruth Murdock, Mary Banister and several nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at The Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Rabun Gap.
